In honor of International Day of Play, the nonprofit distributed over 700 kits to children through two community events – supporting kids recovering from disaster and students facing summer learning loss in one of the country’s most under-resourced regions.

June 11, 2026 (Alexandria, VA) – Good360, the global leader in product philanthropy and purposeful giving, today celebrated International Day of Play by launching Built to Play – bringing more than 700 play and learning kits to children across Eastern Kentucky and Western West Virginia.

In partnership with Project:Camp and Save the Children, the initiative turned corporate product donations into opportunities for children who need them most: kids rebuilding after the 2025 Somerset-London tornadoes and students in rural Appalachian schools facing barriers to summer learning.

On May 28, volunteers gathered at Good360’s Maysville, Kentucky warehouse to assemble the kits, each packed with play and sports items, as well as STEAM and learning materials, to provide children with increased opportunities to play, learn, and grow. From Maysville, the kits traveled to two partner organizations serving children with distinct but equally pressing needs:

  • Good360 joined Project:Camp on-site at their long-term recovery day camp in London, Kentucky for a community play event, followed by the distribution of 100 kits to children and families still navigating life after the 2025 Somerset-London tornado outbreak.
  • Good360 partnered with global humanitarian organization Save the Children to distribute 600 kits across six school sites in Eastern Kentucky and Western West Virginia, supporting students in rural Appalachian communities facing barriers to summer learning through Save the Children’s Summer Boost program.

The effort reflects Good360’s long-standing commitment to Play & Recreation as a core pillar of its work and its belief that access to play is not a luxury, but a foundation for healthy development.

“At the heart of every community, and at the center of every child’s development, is play. Play is not a privilege – it is a right, and it is foundational to how children learn, heal, and grow. Built to Play is a reflection of what Good360 does best: bringing together the generosity of our corporate partners and the expertise of our nonprofit partners to put the right resources in the right hands. For the children of Eastern Kentucky, whether they are rebuilding after a tornado or working to stay on track academically, these kits represent so much more than products. They represent possibility,” said Cinira Baldi, CEO, Good360.

“Every child deserves the chance to stay curious, creative, and connected to learning during the summer – regardless of where they live or the challenges they face,” said Alissa Taylor, Save the Children’s Senior Managing Director of U.S Program Implementation. “We’re grateful to partner with Good360 to bring play and learning kits to kids across Appalachian communities. Through our Summer Boost Camp, these resources help children keep learning, spark imagination, and build confidence.”

“These kids have been through an enormous amount of stress and hardship, and they need a space where they can be supported and process what they went through,” Project:Camp Executive Director Mikey Latner said. “It’s also important that they find joy and have fun – play is inherently therapeutic and making sure kids have that in their lives goes a long way towards helping mitigate the long-term impact of this traumatic experience.”

The United Nations established International Day of Play to ensure that all people – especially children – have the opportunity to thrive through play, recognizing it as essential to healthy development and well-being.

Built to Play reflects Good360’s belief that every child deserves access to play. By connecting corporate donations with two organizations making a meaningful impact, the initiative reaches children where they are: supporting healing for families affected by disaster and keeping rural students learning and engaged over the summer.
