For millions of people in the U.S., basic health and hygiene items are far from guaranteed. Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, diapers, and feminine care products — things many of us take for granted — can be impossible to afford for families stretching tight budgets. Each year, more than five million Americans suffer preventable infections due to lack of soap, and one in three low-income Americans skip showers, reuse diapers, or go without menstrual products because of cost.* Without access to these essentials, children miss school; adults face barriers to work, and families struggle to maintain health, dignity, and daily routines.

At Good360, health and hygiene donations are a core focus area of our impact. By connecting donated products to nonprofits across the country, we help communities access these critical resources, ensuring that every child, adult, and family can live healthier, safer, and more confident lives. These stories show how partners and volunteers are turning donations into real-world impact.

A Clean Start in Dallas

Community partners and volunteers distribute donated hygiene products to help families access everyday essentials they might otherwise go without.

In Dallas, families working hard to cover basic necessities often struggle with the cost of even simple household items. For Lisa** and her three children, dish soap was once a small but constant worry. She would stretch every drop and carefully ration it, balancing groceries and cleaning supplies.

Receiving donated dishwashing liquid changed daily life.

For households like hers, these products distributed in partnership with The Storehouse of Community Resources restore a sense of control and dignity, allowing families to maintain a clean, safe space without stretching already tight budgets.

Restoring Confidence in Idaho Falls

A participant shares how access to donated hygiene products restored confidence, motivation, and a renewed sense of dignity.

At CLUB, Inc. in Idaho Falls, hygiene products and laundry detergent help residents in permanent supportive housing (PSH) programs maintain their dignity and independence. Clients can take donated items for showers and laundry, helping them feel presentable for apartment viewings, job interviews, and daily life.

Clean clothes and accessible hygiene empower residents to engage with the world confidently, laying the foundation for stability and independence.

Support for Recovery in Florida

Donated hygiene and household products help residents in supportive housing maintain clean, comfortable living spaces and focus on rebuilding stability.

At Wayside House in Delray Beach, Florida, women overcoming substance use disorders rely on comfort and stability during their recovery. Through donations, residents received new mattresses and essential hygiene items, including shampoo, soap, deodorant, and lotion — items that provide far more than just physical comfort. A staff member reflected:

Beyond the items themselves, this support represents community care and renewed confidence for women rebuilding their lives.

Meeting Everyday Needs in Michigan

Example of donated health and hygiene products prepared for distribution to nonprofit partners serving local communities.

In Grand Rapids, Michigan, community partners such as Dare2 Inc work to support families, youth, and veterans who rely on donations of health and hygiene essentials to meet everyday needs. One local ministry assembled hygiene bags filled with shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and socks, ensuring households had the basic products needed to stay healthy during the winter months.

In other moments across the community, these donations helped youth programs provide personal care items to students, supported baby hygiene ministries distributing diapers and wipes to parents, and equipped leadership programs serving young people experiencing housing instability with the essentials needed for participants to feel comfortable and cared for.

Across these efforts, simple products become powerful tools for stability, helping families focus less on what they’re missing and more on building stronger futures.

Why Health & Hygiene Matters

Access to health and hygiene essentials transforms daily life. Clean hands, diapers, fresh clothing, and personal care products help children attend school with confidence; adults show up to work or interviews ready to succeed, and families can protect themselves from preventable illness. These items restore dignity, reduce stress, and empower people to focus on growth rather than survival.

Every donation delivered through Good360 is more than a product — it’s an act of care, a signal to families and individuals that they are seen, supported, and valued. From small daily routines to life-changing milestones, health and hygiene products restore dignity and create a foundation for people to thrive, one essential item at a time.
