Lives Impacted – 25+

In Grand Rapids, Michigan, The Mentor Center is making a difference in the lives of students from low-income families thanks to the support of Amazon. By introducing their unique prize cart program, students have the opportunity to earn rewards by participating in reading and math activities, promoting both academic achievement and the ability to give gifts to their loved ones.

Monica, one of the mentors at the center, shares her experience, “I love using the prize cart to motivate our students in reading and math. It’s especially meaningful for our students who come from low-income backgrounds, as they earn prizes to give gifts, they wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise.”

Thanks to a generous donation from Amazon’s GRR1 fulfillment center, facilitated by Good360, the prize cart has been restocked with new items and books, sparking excitement among the students. From essential supplies like glue for slime-making to materials for painting, these additions offer therapeutic activities that boost creativity and provide a sense of relaxation.

Through these incredible programs, The Mentor Center continues to nurture creativity and academic development, supported by community partnerships that emphasize the importance of educational empowerment and empathy.

The collaboration between Amazon, Good360, and The Mentor Center serves as an example of how collective endeavors can transform lives and inspire future generations. This collaboration has positively impacted over 25 students, reinforcing their commitment to academic excellence and personal growth.
