We’re on a mission to close the need gap

In 1983, Good360 set out on a journey to distribute product donations directly to people in need and, today, we’re still going strong. Through lasting partnerships with our corporate donors and nonprofit network, we’ve proudly distributed more than $18 billion in goods to over 100 million people globally. But that’s not all we do — or all we can achieve. Amid the urgency of extreme weather events, persistent poverty, and urgent crises, we continue to close the need gap and open opportunity: for donors and nonprofits to better serve their communities, for communities to become more resilient, and for us all to create a more sustainable world.

Our Mission

Good360’s mission is to close the need gap to open opportunity for all.

We live in a world of plenty, yet millions of people find themselves in critical need every day, creating a vast need gap. At Good360, we are on a mission to close that gap. We know there’s more than enough to go around. That’s why we work to get donated goods to where they can do the most good, to close the need gap.

When we close the gap, we open opportunity: for donors and nonprofits to better serve their communities, for communities to become more resilient and for us all to create less waste. But most of all, we help people to reach their boundless potential.

How It All Began

  • 1983

Good360 is born as a nonprofit called Gifts In Kind International. It begins when 3M Corporation seeks to donate $12 million worth of office equipment to the United Way. Lacking the resources to handle such a large gift, the United Way establishes a new organization to distribute donated goods from companies to qualified nonprofits. In its first year, Good360 distributes $17 million in product ($52 million in 2023 dollars).

  • 1987

Good360 makes its first major infrastructure investment by creating 10 regional warehouses to process and ship products to its growing network of nonprofit organizations. Prior to that, distribution had been handled by United Way locations.

  • 1992

Good360 establishes the Retail Match Program to enable nonprofit organizations to partner with national retailers and pick up donations directly from local stores and warehouse locations. CVS, Advance Auto Parts, and Amazon are among the brands currently participating in this program, which allows nonprofits to establish relationships with donors in their area.

“We partner with socially responsible companies to keep new products from ending up in landfills, and we give those goods a new home in communities where they can do the most good. Our ability to provide impact at scale allows Good360 to be a valued strategic partner in any organization’s efforts to meet their philanthropic and sustainability goals.”
