LOS ANGELES (July 22) – Six months after the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, the BeyGOOD Foundation and Good360 are providing urgently-needed long-term support to hundreds of families still working to recover and rebuild their lives. Through community events and distributions, students and their families have access to donated goods and an opportunity to connect with their community.

For many children in Altadena and Pasadena, life remains disrupted after the Eaton Fire destroyed over 6,000 homes in historically Black neighborhoods. Families continue to live in temporary housing, children live far from their friends, and families lack access to essential items they lost in the fire or can no longer afford. As immediate relief efforts wind down and attention fades, the need for sustained support has only intensified.

“We lost everything during the fires, but we continue to persevere,” said Rachel Griffin, whose grandmother’s Altadena home was destroyed in the Eaton Fire. She and her son are currently staying in a shelter. “Our community is strong. Even though our physical homes are gone, our love for each other holds us together. We’re grateful to the BeyGOOD Foundation and Good360 for helping us replace items we lost. My son and I have been through a lot since January, but these events are a breath of fresh air.”

“Bringing the community back together is essential to the healing process. When families are scattered and children are displaced, maintaining connections becomes even more important as time passes and other resources disappear,” said Tina Knowles, Chairwoman of BeyGOOD Foundation.

The partnership between BeyGOOD Foundation and Good360 reflects an enduring commitment to the Los Angeles community. Working together in Altadena, Pasadena, and surrounding areas, the organizations recognize that meaningful recovery requires a long-term approach as families navigate the complex process of rebuilding their lives.

Recent activities include:

  • In July, BeyGOOD Foundation and Good360 hosted a summer distribution event where families from Rosewood Charter School and BeyGOOD grantees had access to bedding, mattresses, household items, and clothing while connecting with friends.
  • In May, Good360 partnered with BeyGOOD Foundation and Hummingly to host a ‘Day of Play’ event where students were able to play at Dave and Buster’s free of charge while their parents attended a mental health session with a licensed psychologist.
  • In February, BeyGOOD Foundation partnered with Good360 and other partners to provide critically needed items to students in the Altadena area.

“Six months after the fires, families are navigating the most complex phase of recovery which demands significant financial resources and tremendous emotional resilience,” said Cinira Baldi, CEO of Good360. “While the world has moved on, these families continue rebuilding their lives piece by piece, and they deserve our unwavering commitment.”

The organizations remain committed to supporting families as they recover. As the months pass, it’s critical that affected communities are not forgotten and receive renewed support as they continue the long journey of rebuilding their lives.
