Astegos is a nonprofit organization in Idaho whose mission is to help their community’s most vulnerable population by providing essential goods and housing solutions throughout the greater Boise area. Their warehouse and outreach programs directly help underserved individuals and families through partnerships with schools, churches, and other nonprofits.
On May 17, 2024, Astegos team members joined volunteers from Deer Flat Church at Garfield Elementary School in Boise to facilitate a toy distribution event to close out the school year. The children were thrilled to choose three new toys to take home, thanks to a large donation from Toys for Tots. Moreover, the church’s pastor connected with a refugee family from Venezuela, who Astegos also provided with some new shoes.
“We are blessed to have sources of good like Astegos and Toys for Tots,” the pastor said. “They provide hope and faith to our youth.”
The event exemplified Good360’s goal of closing the need gap and demonstrated how Toys for Tots is more than a Christmastime charity, they are a year-round force for good.
