Lives Impacted – 25
For nearly 15 years, StoreHouse of Community Resources has been a cornerstone in the Grand Rapids, Michigan community. Through their partnership with Good360, this past month Amazon made an impact on the lives of 25 young women participating in the Girls Growing 2 Women S.I.S.T.E.R.S. Education Initiative by donating a generous number of purses.
StoreHouse of Community Resources’ mission is to connect resources to at-risk populations by partnering with nonprofits, businesses, and schools. As a committed Good360 Community Resource Partner, they have facilitated the distribution of millions of dollars worth of household and school-related products to their nonprofit and school partners.
Girls Growing 2 Women Founder and President Latasha Robertson-Crump and Lead Activity Coordinator Brianna expressed their sincere gratitude for the contribution to their program, emphasizing the importance in the girls’ development.
“We’re here shopping for our S.I.S.T.E.R.S. program, where we go into schools and work with youth throughout Kent County,” Brianna shared. “We got them purposes today. We want to implement self-care and being awesome, amazing and beautiful every day. Thank you, StoreHouse.”
The S.I.S.T.E.R.S. Education Initiative offers a comprehensive program that focuses on developing essential life skills, character development, and healthy mental health practices. Participants engage in workshops that encourage honest communication, frequent journaling, and self-analysis, all aimed at increasing their self-esteem and self-awareness. For the 25 girls in the program, the donated purses symbolize the support and encouragement they receive, serving as a reminder of their journey towards empowerment and positive self-image.
