Jonathan Ireland is senior vice president of finance at United Airlines. In this role, Jonathan oversees United’s $55 billion operating budget and financial planning process. Additionally, he manages United’s $6 billion annual capital expense spend. He also has responsibility for United’s centralized three-statement forecasting and The Investor Relations organization. With Jonathan’s 16 years at United Airlines, he has developed deep financial, leadership, and business experience.

Previously, Jonathan served as managing director of investor relations, where he oversaw all of United’s financial results, communications, and managed relationships with United’s investors, analysts, and credit rating agencies.

He joined United in 2008 as an analyst in financial planning. Before joining United, Jonathan worked for a satellite branch of Opportunity International, a microfinance non-profit based in Guadalajara, Mexico. Jonathan was named Best IR Professional in Institutional Investor magazine’s 2016 All-America Executive Team. He received his Bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Augustana College and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
