This winter, Storehouse, a Michigan nonprofit, joined forces with the Public Museum to host a special community outreach event. Through a partnership with Good360 and the generosity of Amazon, the event provided more than 100 individuals with essential items to help them through the winter season.

Individuals experiencing homelessness were invited to take what they needed: coats to fight the winter chill, socks to keep their feet dry, and hygiene kits to help them stay clean and maintain their health.

A museum staff member shared the impact of the day: “Seeing people walk away not only with items they desperately need but with smiles on their faces was incredibly moving. One guest told us how much it meant to have a warm coat for the first time in years.”

This event showcased the transformative impact that access to essential goods can have on individuals facing hardship. The Public Museum became more than a place of learning; it became a place of resource that could help people stay warm, healthy, and take steps toward long-term stability.

Thank you, Amazon, warehouse DET6, for your incredible generosity. Your support made a difference for these individuals, reminding us all of the importance of community and care.
