WESTERN KENTUCKY TORNADOES

On December 21, 2021, an EF-4 tornado ripped through Mayfield, Kentucky damaging homes and businesses while leaving 57 fatalities in its wake. We continue to work with our local partners to help tornado survivors rebuild their homes and communities.

Our Impact

In a two-day period from July 18 to July 19, 2023, significant flooding occurred across western portions of Kentucky, southern Illinois, southeastern Missouri, and northwestern Tennessee. The flooding event inundated locations previously hit by the EF-4 tornado that tore through in 2021.

In addition to an immediate response that included shelter items and clean-up supplies, Good360 continued to help with the long-term recovery of the Mayfield, KY community from the prior year’s tornadoes.

We worked with our longtime corporate partner Dow to provide eight RV trailers to help support long-term disaster recovery and the post-disaster housing shortage in Mayfield, KY. This donation brings the total number to 130 lightly used trailers, sustainably donated to support disaster-impacted regions throughout the country. Through our relationship with disaster-related nonprofit partners, the trailers are being used for survivor transitional housing, long-term volunteer housing, and office space for temporary operations.

We placed the trailers with nonprofit partner The Mayfield Graves County Long Term Recovery Group (LTRG). The organization addresses community needs in response to damage sustained from natural disasters by providing coordinated management of long-term recovery efforts. Mayfield-Graves LTRG, which also received 12 trailers in 2022, utilized this second donation for survivor homes after the temporary government housing program ended in June.

If you would like to help the survivors in this region, please consider donating today. A $100 donation would allow us to move $4,000 in needed good to help this community in need.
