DRIVING HOPE PROGRAM

Advance Auto Parts Donation Program

Good360 has partnered with Advance Auto Parts to donate their excess inventory on an annual basis to nonprofits through Driving Hope, the Advance Auto Parts Donation Program. Good360 is working with the Advance Auto Parts and CARQUEST distribution centers across the country to ensure that this valuable merchandise benefits their communities by being partnered with local vocational training programs, nonprofits, trade and VOTEC schools and more.

Why Would My Organization Be Interested?

Advance Auto Parts donations are perfect for trade schools, community colleges with VOTEC training and nonprofits who work with vehicles or have their own fleet.

However, this donation isn’t for everyone as an Advance Auto Parts donation is a broad mixture of almost anything you might find in an Advance Auto Parts and CARQUEST store including (but not limited to):

  • Auto parts (chassis, compressors, belts, hoses, brakes, rotors)
  • Assorted filters (air, oil, fuel)
  • Fuses, wiper blades, electrical, light bulbs
  • Assorted interior & exterior accessories (seat covers, floor mats, air fresheners, drink holders)
  • Performance & functional chemicals (oil, coolant, lube, cleaners)
  • Car care chemicals
  • Seasonal items
  • Tools, manuals, repair kits, paint supplies

DRIVING HOPE FAQS

How will donations be configured?

Advance Auto Parts donations will be in pallets and will need to be picked up at their distribution centers.

WHAT ARE THE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES?
  • All products need to be “black labeled” OR all barcodes must be removed to prevent re-selling or return of the donation
  • Recipient must report donation pick-up to Good360 within 2 weeks of pick-up
  • All donations must be picked up within 5 business days and nonprofit recipient is responsible for securing required vehicles as dictated by distribution center and covering all transportation costs
WHAT IS THE VOLUME, VALUE AND FREQUENCY OF THE DONATIONS?

The volume, frequency and value of donations from each Distribution Center varies, but annual donations received from this partnership can range from 4-100 pallets/yr and $5,000 – $100,000 in Fair Market Value per year.

Some Distribution Centers donate weekly, monthly or quarterly.  Donation frequency is at the discretion of the DC.

On the low end, a single donation pickup could have as little of 4 pallets of product. On the high end, a single donation could have 26 pallets of product.

Please contact Good360 to discuss expectations of donation size available in your area.

Are the products new or used?

All product will be new; All product is excess inventory.

How do I properly black label product?

A black, vertical line must be drawn on the barcode of each unit received.  A vertical line prevents a retail scanner from reading the barcode at the store.  Below is an example.

What if I have a problem with my contact at the distribution center?

Please send an email documenting your issues and/or challenges to AAP@good360.org.

Can the donation be scrapped for parts?

Yes, but only after your organization has attempted to distribute or use the product for at least 30 days.

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON WHO CAN GET A DONATION?

It is important to Advance Auto and CARQUEST that their donations go to organizations that can use most of what they receive. To that end, Good360 will need to understand how your organization plans to use and/or distribute these donations before approving.
