You Can Help Us Fight Ebola
In September, we called on businesses to donate products to help fight the spread of Ebola. Two months later, Ebola is still claiming lives in Western Africa, and to stop it, we need the help of not just companies, but also individuals.
Good360 has successfully launched its WishLists tool to support the needs of aid workers on the ground in hot zones battling the Ebola crisis. To date, multiple transport containers, filled with products valued at more than $1 million, have already been distributed, thanks to generous product donations from companies like Thirty-One Gifts, Hasbro, Kohler, Celeste Industries Corporation, iMed Technology and others. Products shipped include medical and cleaning supplies to help protect aid workers and treat the sick and dying, as well as donated toys like My Little Pony and Gloworm to comfort children quarantined or in isolation care, including orphans shunned by their communities and suffering trauma after losing family members.
“There’s a lot more work to do to save lives, ease suffering and halt the spread of Ebola,” said Carly Fiorina, Good360 board chair and former chairman and CEO of HP. “Everyone can do something to help, whether donating products or the funds needed to ship them, or by raising awareness of these wish lists and encouraging others to join in.”
Individuals and companies can help fill the remaining wish lists by donating products requested by aid workers, or by funding the shipping and handling costs needed to get the goods to Western Africa. Check out the WishLists at https://good360.org/ebola
