REVIEWING OUR GOOD IN 2011 & 2012
By Jenny Bertolette
2011 & 2012 marked many a milestone. From the elimination of membership fees allowing our network to increase more than 300%, to rebranding Gifts In Kind International into Good360. From being ranked #6 on Forbes’ Top 20 Most Efficient Large US Charities to receiving a 2012 Excellence Award for our exemplary partnership with The Home Depot from the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP). From opening a national distribution and sorting center in Omaha, Nebraska to responding to the product needs of both Hurricane Isaac and Sandy victims. We welcomed one of the world’s leading businesswomen, Carly Fiorina, as board chair and we received a substantial grant from the Knight Foundation to engage communities, individuals and companies through our new online product exchange platform.
Milestones only matter if we keep one mission at our core – to fulfill the needs of nonprofits with corporate product donations. Between January 2011 and December 2012, Good360 distributed $627 million worth of donated products to dedicated nonprofits around the world. Connecting these nonprofits with donated product from America’s top brands saved them in excess of $604 million – money that went to support, and in some cases, expand their programs in underserved communities. Not only did we assist nonprofits in 28 countries, we delivered 6,500 truckloads of tangible good to help communities across the country and around the world.
