Tina DiMartino was born in the Ukraine, and when she moved to the United States in 2001, the people there were still very much in her heart.

“I am trying to help poor people as much as I can,” she says. This drive is what led her to found the nonprofit SOS American Foundation, which focuses on helping people all around the world who are below the poverty line.

SOS AMFThe organization provides different programs and products to charities that distribute donated foods, clothes and other manufacturing goods such as medical supplies and equipment, educational supplies, basic household goods and toys. SOS works with foster homes, women’s shelters, organizations for the disabled and veterans’ organizations, among others.

SOS American Foundation has worked in many different countries to provide direct relief assistance to the poor, usually by collecting specifically requested materials and distributing them through the churches and charity organizations already operating in areas of need. In this way, the organization serves the poor with dignity and ensures the most appropriate use of donors’ funds.

The organization has been a member of Good360 since 2008, and has received and distributed product like fitness equipment, clothing, building supplies, lighting, toys and shoes.

This past winter, warm clothing and accessories from Good360 were sent through SOS to a women and children’s shelter in the Ukraine. The mothers there, who are learning to care and provide for their children, were given coats, hats, scarves and other items for them and their children.

In the last year alone, SOS American Foundation has provided shipments to the Ukraine, Philippines, Niger, Guyana, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Kyrgyzstan, affecting more than one million people.

“Thanks to Good360, thousands of people received humanitarian help. They have some shoes, clothing, toys and home goods in these hard times,” says DiMartino. “I hope we continue to do good together where help is needed.”
