Donated Wigs Empower Women Going Through Cancer Treatment

Beautiful You by Profile began operations in June of 2014 when the owner and coordinator of Profile Salon were inspired to give back to their community. The mission of Beautiful You is to provide support, comfort, confidence, and joy during the difficult time of cancer treatment. Beautiful You is a salon program that opens its doors on the second Monday of each month to provide complimentary services to women and children undergoing cancer treatment. Beautiful You provides complimentary wigs, hats, scarves, chemo bags and other items to help these women during their cancer journey. They also provide head shaves, manicures, pedicures, scalp massages and other complimentary salon services.

The program’s mission is to nurture the wellness of their guests, the whole person, physically, mentally, and spiritually. In doing so, the clients leave with more confidence and a larger support system. These women are not coming in solely as cancer patients. They enter the salon as clients and leave as friends.

Beautiful You receives its funding from generous community, business, and personal donations. The organization recently received a large donation of wigs from The StoreHouse, a local nonprofit and Good360 Community Redistribution Partner (CRP). Thanks to donations made from Amazon.com and the Amazon FBA donations program, these wigs will truly make a difference in the lives of so many women and girls battling cancer in the local Grand Rapids community.

Thanks to Beautiful You, The StoreHouse, Good360, and Amazon, for empowering these women through the difficult journey of cancer treatment.
