As Told to Good360 by Kirstin’s Haven, Inc. and Foncham Distribution Center
The Foncham Distribution Center, headquartered in Camp Springs, MD (and other locations in MD), is a nonprofit that works with companies and retailers to donate new, nonperishable items to nonprofits to make donating simpler. We help nonprofits serve their populations through programs and services. We have provided goods for nonprofits with a wide range of missions, from serving veterans to homeless women to the youth of Baltimore. Thanks to this donation from Walmart, Benevolent Beauties, a nonprofit that we work with, donated household items to a family in need to refurnish their kitchen. They were able to save their money and use it on other expenses after losing their home to a fire.
This donation empowered them to be able to rebuild and continue providing for their family without financial barriers. Benevolent Beauties partnered with Youth Empowerment and Stability and the Foncham Distribution Center to help replace small appliances, clothing, lamps, microwaves and shelves to give this family a head start.“For anyone who’s ever experienced losing a home to a fire, the experience can be a stressful whirlwind of unknowns: wondering where they might live, or how to replace items like furniture, food and clothing,” stated the homeowner. She shared that she didn’t know what to expect when she was told she’d be getting donations, but was very grateful for all she received. Thank you Good360 and Kirstin’s Haven for helping this family start over again.
