06 Jan Volunteers helped us do good better in 2014!
We’re incredibly thankful for the many volunteers that helped at the Good360 National Distribution and Sorting Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Corporate volunteers in 2014 included Werner’s Blue Brigade, UPS’ local sales team, AurStaff’s sales force and Hilton Worldwide employees. We’ve also been fortunate to partner with United Way of the Midlands during their Day of Caring with Physicians Mutual and University of Nebraska Omaha’s Office of Civic and Social Responsibility. These volunteers sorted and packaged donated clothing, diapers and paper goods.
During Hilton Worldwide’s Global Week of Service, Hilton volunteers packaged nearly 130,000 diapers into cartons – diapers that will help the nearly 6 million babies in the U.S. living in lower-income families who often cannot afford diapers and can’t purchase them through any government assistance programs. Donated diapers arrive at Good360’s warehouse by the truckload, often in mixed sizes and types. Each volunteer group sorts diapers by size and repackages them, allowing us to provide more than 400 diapers in one carton for the most efficient shipping costs.
Volunteers help complete the circle of good at Good360. Their commitment provides a valuable service and makes a huge difference to our entire network of 40,000 nonprofit organizations.
Do more good in 2015! Corporate employees, civic groups and college students are welcome to volunteer throughout the year at our National Distribution and Sorting Center. If you are interested, please contact Jan McKenzie at firstname.lastname@example.org or 703-299-7562.
