21 Nov Town in Need Received Life Changing Donation from Casper Sleep
Organization: Hands in Service, Inc.
Lives Impacted: 1200
Hands in Service was founded in 2008 and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a nonprofit organization in March 2010. We operate out of Sellersville, Pennsylvania, but work throughout the nation with anyone in need. Using our gifts and talents we form short-term mission teams focused on evangelism, construction, medical aid and education for disadvantaged communities on a local, regional and international level.
Many of the items donated were sent to help with the devastation after Hurricane Maria to residents in Puerto Rico. Many of the residents in the mountain region and Ponce, PR had not received aid since the storm, and did not expect to get any help for a long time. The item most appreciated in these donations were the solar lights which to this day continue as a power source. The clothing and pillows replaced those damaged in the storm, while paper towels were used for everyday use throughout the community. Many of these people were still living without walls, electrical wiring, damaged roofs, and lacked the ability to prepare hot meals.
We were able to provided food, pillows and linens to an 85yr-old lady who was living alone and in ruin. She graciously accepted the items and expressed much appreciation. Before we could say goodbye, she broke down in tears and just expressed incredible appreciation for our help. By providing items of comfort and need, we give people the chance to share their stories and emotions also helping in their healing process. The gratitude for all the donation were much appreciated and recipients were all very grateful. Thank you Good360 and Casper for providing needed goods to our community.
