Enlace de Families de Holyoke is a grassroots nonprofit organization located in Holyoke, Massachusetts. They help families and individuals in need as they begin to rebuild their lives.  After the devastation of past storms, looking for a new place to live was a high priority for our residents. They needed mattresses to sleep on, food to eat and a roof to put over their heads. We specialize in food, housing, and public-school system referrals, but pride ourselves in offering our community members a variety of educational family-oriented services. We want to strengthen the Holyoke’s community by identifying and addressing their needs and aspirations to offer them a lifetime of success.

When Good360 responded to our application request for mattresses, no other organization/agency in the state was prepared to respond to the needs especially for the displaced hurricane victims. Through this Tempur-Pedic mattress donation, families were able to move into their new homes with high-quality mattress to sleep on. From that point on, some family members were able to enroll in workforce development training’s, some became employed and their quality of life improved enormously.

Jose, his wife, and two daughters arrived in Massachusetts from Puerto Rico. This was the first time they had to leave the island. Jose suffered from a severe back injury while working in Puerto Rico and currently has two rods in his back for mobility functions. Since receiving this mattress donation, he has informed us that he is “experiencing very little pain unlike what he had experienced post-surgery”. Although they live in an apartment building on the second walk up, they are thriving. His wife has a part-time job while also learning English and their daughters are enrolled in school and excited for the new school year to start. Thanks to donations like these families are able to get a good night’s rest and focus on their futures.
