Tempur-Pedic Donations Come At The Perfect Time for Cancer Patients

United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) was founded in Huntington, NY with the mission to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. Through seven programs we have been able to promote general health and wellness as well as financially assist patients, survivors, and their families. These individuals are often low-income and have little to no insurance. We strive to alleviate the stress and strain that cancer can cause for patients and families and to foster health and well-being through both traditional and holistic treatments by never denying anyone service regardless of age, race, gender or income.

Thanks to our partnership with Good360, UBCF has connected with outstanding retailers to provide high-quality, high-value products to our much deserving clients. On May 20, 2017, UBCF hosted our annual Mattress Donation Event at the International Warehouse Group in Melville, NY. UBCF was able to provide 200 Tempur-Pedic mattresses of various sizes to women, men, and children directly impacted by breast cancer. We also provided high quality clothing, shoes, personal care products, and coffee makers from several other respected retailers. Our clients are typically going through financial hardships and cannot afford the high cost of a new mattress. They are now able to sleep peacefully on a comfortable, new mattress. A good night’s sleep is key in their recovery.

There were many sincerely appreciative clients who shared their words of gratitude during our event. One of our clients, Eileen stated, “You all are like angels. If there is someone who doesn’t believe in spirits here, I tell them to come down to UBCF and see all the God’s work UBCF does, I have met angels in human form. Thank you!” We were all deeply moved by Eileen’s kind words – they brought us to tears. Eileen has had trouble sleeping since she was a child and she came to our facility to pick up some household items. She later informed us that since receiving her Tempur-Pedic mattress, she has slept through the night for the first time in forever!

Many other clients were also ecstatic about the Tempur-Pedic mattresses. Catherine shared how UBCF’s donations couldn’t have come at a better time. She picked up her mattress on Saturday and had a surgery scheduled for the following Tuesday. Several days after her surgery, Catherine called to let us know how amazing the mattress has been in her recovery process and how thankful she was for UBCF’s help. The same went for our client, Allison, who said, “I cannot thank you enough for this wonderful program. It could not have come at a more necessary time. Sincerest thanks.” There are several more quotes we received with such thoughtful, caring words about all the help UBCF offers.

All the weeks of planning, organizing, heavy lifting, and hard worked paid off through the hundreds of smiles, hugs and tears of joy from our happy clients. UBCF supports our clients both physically and emotionally, including facilitating a good night’s sleep with help from Tempur-Pedic, which is so important to our clients’ well-being. Thanks to our partnership with Good360, Tempur-Pedic, and other wonderful retailers, we continue to truly make a positive, lasting impact in the lives of so many deserving people.
