09 Jan Preparing Future Employees Through Clothing Donation
Organization: Madeit! Foundation
Lives Impacted: 50+
Madeit! Foundation is a nonprofit agency providing professional development to individuals looking to improve their financial and wellness goals in the Greater Baltimore area. The program has partnerships with local libraries, unemployment centers, professional associations, colleges, businesses, and the juvenile court system. Our goal is to foster a commitment to grow the skills of low income or emerging employees by providing employment skills with workshops in: Relationship Building, Soft Skills, Mentoring, Customer Service Training, Networking, Certifications, Career seminars, Business Development, Professional Development and Wellness. Through improved skills individuals can find sustainable employment and commitment to follow through on a path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Over the years we have updated our workshops to provide training for future employees, graduates, veterans, and people out of the workforce. Our workshops range from wellness eating tips, to resume training and job search best practices. Throughout the month, individuals can sign up for these programs to get information about personal and professional development to better their future. We also host donation drives to give back to those in the community who can’t afford business casual clothing. This donation of hangers helped our clients using the clothing closet get a better view of hanging suits, slacks and dresses. It made them feel independent, and more like they were shopping with a shopper’s vibe not a donation bin feel. We recently gave away a new suit to a client who could not afford one, but needed it for an interview in the coming weeks. He was able to look for what he needed and felt dignified shopping in our clothing closet. Thank you, Good360 for helping our future employees find confidence to get back in the workforce.
