Party City Donations Helps Transform Families Touched by Special Needs

Florida-based Buddy Cruise provides educational opportunities, awareness and advocacy for families touched by special needs. We host an annual conference at sea for individuals with special needs and their friends and families.  

Last year’s event took place over Halloween and we hosted a fun Halloween Extravaganza! There was music, dancing, candy, contests and, thanks to Good360 and Party City, free costumes for our attendees! It was so rewarding to watch as the individuals were given their new costumes. The smiles, the hugs, and their genuine appreciation for the gifts was something we hadn’t seen before. The range of sizes from Toddler to XXX-Large was perfect as we serve all ages!  

The donation has helped families who may not have been able to bring a costume to the event due to financial or other reasons. It was so touching to watch the kids and adults “transform” into some of their favorite characters. Some of the individuals we serve are working on social skills and peer-to-peer interaction. Once they put the costume on, many started to interact and become the character. This donation allowed them to come out of their shell. It was very rewarding. 

One mom of a 22-year-old with Down syndrome and Autism told us, “I did not think I would be able to pack a costume for my daughter for Halloween as we have to travel a great distance to get to the Buddy Cruise. With the airlines weight restrictions and the medical supplies that I have to pack, I really prioritize what I bring. It was such a relief to know that my daughter would be able to “fit in” and have a costume waiting for her when we arrived. The costume was the highlight of her trip!” Thank you Good360 and Party City!

Shari Rudolph is Chief Marketing Officer of Good360 and is an accomplished retail, digital commerce and media executive with a strong track record of building audience, revenue and brands. Shari’s previous experience includes management consulting as well as various executive and leadership roles at both start-ups and large media and retail e-commerce companies in Southern California, New York and Silicon Valley. She is also an adjunct professor teaching classes in marketing, advertising and entrepreneurial studies and she earned her MBA from The Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
