One of the first items needed after a disaster is a source of lighting, as widespread loss of electricity is a common issue. This was true of Hurricane Dorian, which caused unprecedented damage, including the destruction of the power grid serving the Bahamas. Both the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama had island-wide power outages, as well as losses of water, telecommunications, and sewage service, as a result of the severe winds and rain. Good360’s partner, Led by CEO Seungah Jeong and Founder John Salzinger, MPOWERD® donated Luci® lights that effectively met the needs of those without power immediately after Dorian hit.
The areas affected by the storm have faced additional complications because of a large amount of well-intended but unsolicited goods being sent without a final destination in mind. Good360 sent donations to the islands when we identified specific unmet needs with the help of our nonprofit partners on the ground. Crisis Response International is one such nonprofit that helped strategically distribute the MPOWERD solar lights to those who were hit the hardest by Dorian and in the most need of the lighting.

She is also an adjunct professor teaching classes in marketing, advertising and entrepreneurial studies and she earned her MBA from The Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
