Mattel Donation Brings Tears of Joy to Families in Need During the Holidays

Established in 1995, Kids Korna, NFP (KKO), located in Chicago, IL, helps to minimize violence and abuse by taking underprivileged youth from all corners of the city and providing them with opportunities to improve their livesWe offer multiple programs and resources through partnerships and collaborations with our youth organization and tv show to keep them occupied. We strive to help at-risk youth of all ages develop a solid foundation for healthy living in their communities and their homes while on a journey to adulthood.   

In addition to the thousands of youth and families that come to Kidz Korna’s annual Youth Expo and Toy Giveaway Tour, we make sure that we provide job training programs, resources, job leads, college information and scholarships to assist families in becoming more self-sufficient in order to change their economic situation. For 13 years, toys and other items donated from Good360’s corporate partners have been the major component in helping us engage various communities around Chicago. To this day, my grandchildren, family members, friends and supporters speak around the city, visiting parks, jails, schools, community centers, hospitals and churches to give away gifts while championing for change in the area of violence and abuse prevention. To date we’ve helped over 50 youth programs, served 30,000 participants, given away 125,000 gifts, work with 75 partners, traveled to number of places to give and receive gifts all while volunteering.  

Thanks to Mattel and Good360, all the donations are used to empower Chicago’s most vulnerable communities during our Youth Expo and Toy Giveaway Tour of the City. It truly thrills our hearts to see grandmothers weeping over a Barbie Doll that they can finally give to their grandkids for the holidays, or parents excited to finally wrap toys for under the tree. Mrs. Jackson, a participant in one of our annual Toy Giveaway events, shares her story as she would like to speak on behalf of the senior committee about how much of a great joy it is to give their grandchildren something for Christmas through our programs, especially when they are on a fixed income. She said, “A grandparent’s biggest prayer is to be able to do something like leave a legacy, an inheritance or give a gift to their grandchildren, and with help of the resources along with the toys they receive from Kidz Kornathey are able to do both.” Thank you again to Mattel and Good360 for giving us the opportunity to not only continue or mission but brighten the lives of those in the community as well!

Shari Rudolph is Chief Marketing Officer of Good360 and is an accomplished retail, digital commerce and media executive with a strong track record of building audience, revenue and brands. Shari’s previous experience includes management consulting as well as various executive and leadership roles at both start-ups and large media and retail e-commerce companies in Southern California, New York and Silicon Valley. She is also an adjunct professor teaching classes in marketing, advertising and entrepreneurial studies and she earned her MBA from The Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
