Ashley and Darnell Stewart knew they had to help their community when COVID-19 threatened Galveston County in Texas. In 2015, they founded The Baby Stewart Foundation which provides a safe, encouraging, non judgment environment to support women, men and families during pregnancy, and once the babies are born.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple noticed something else that needed attention – a tremendous need among the elderly in the county. Some seniors lacked access to basic personal protective equipment (PPE) including face coverings and gloves needed to complete essential tasks.
Thanks to the partnership between Good360 and its network of suppliers, The Baby Stewart Foundation was able to distribute more than 100 masks to members of the community.
Joe’s* immune system is compromised and he did not want to risk completing daily errands like grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions without some sort of PPE. The client remarked how they felt seniors were being overlooked during this public health crisis.
The distribution of needed goods like these PPE items helps provide independence and a sense of security for the most vulnerable during this uncertain time.
