Lush Makes Bath Time Fun Again

The Samaritan Center of Excellence (also known as Samaritan Women, Inc.) is a nonprofit organization located in Rochester, New York. The mission of the organization is to challenge men, women, and children to transcend beyond their circumstances while restoring families’ one individual at a time. The organizational vision is to better communities by transforming vulnerable families, particularly those affected by substance use disorders and/or the criminal justice system.

We have an annual Holiday party where we invite those that we serve to attend. This time around, we served 35 families and 120 children. The donation of Lush products from Good360 allowed us to help women and their families who have been impacted by alcohol and substance use. Volunteers planned and prepared for the event by wrapping holiday gifts provided by Good360, including the great Lush products!

During the party, children were able to select three Lush products each. The kids became excited about the interesting looking, colorful products. Once they realized they were bath products, an even greater excitement came. These Lush products were provided to the children in an effort to make bath time more fun for children. Their families are usually economically challenged and often struggle during the holiday season. This was small way to brighten up their holiday.

Parents told us that bath time was not a chore any longer. One single mother, Barb, explained that it used to feel like a torture session when she mentioned bath time to her three young children. She told us that when her kids received the Lush products, everything changed. “In the evening when I say, ‘Bath time!’ they all run into the bathroom to get the Lush soap! Another parent, Deb, shared, “My daughter wanted to stay in the bathtub for hours using Lush – her favorite color is red.” Thank you so much, Lush, for donating such wonderful products!
