In Memoriam—Ginny Royal - Good360

In Memoriam—Ginny Royal

By Melissa Trumpower

This weekend Good360 lost one of its best. Ginny Royal, our intrepid and tough-but-fair Senior Director of Security and Compliance, passed away after a courageous fight with cancer. GINNY Monkeys_smDuring her 12-year tenure, Ginny worked in many capacities here – as a partnership manager who created value for a wide range of business associations, as the lead of our customer service team and most recently as the head of our security and compliance efforts.

No matter what she did for us, Ginny was devoted to achieving results in every job and every task she took on. Security and Compliance, however, would end up being her sweet spot. Despite her calm and friendly exterior, when she took on this new role Ginny’s honesty, fairness, toughness and integrity came into focus more than ever before. Those of us who thought we knew her well were surprised to witness her tenacity for getting the information she needed to make the best decisions possible. From the top down, we relied upon her wisdom and knowledge.

Ginny truly understood the importance of work-life balance. At our employee social events, she was always in the thick of things, having fun. She was the epitome of the motto “work hard, have fun.”

Outside of work, Ginny and her husband Mike were very active, climbing mountains and river rafting on the weekends. She was also a very talented “crafter,” making beautiful shawls, blankets, scarves and dolls. We treasure the beautiful pieces she was kind enough to make for us.

All of us here at Good360 are shattered by the loss of our colleague, mentor, hero and friend. Every one of us was heartened by the manner in which Ginny dealt with her illness. She worked remotely up until a week ago, acting as the consummate professional and providing much-needed advice regarding security and compliance. Not once did she complain. In fact, she spent her time making us feel better.

We pay tribute this week to a woman that we admire and love. While we are saddened, we also celebrate her life, which she lived to the absolute fullest. Thanks Ginny – you are missed!

Good360’s mission is to transform lives by providing hope, dignity, and a sense of renewed possibility to individuals, families, and communities impacted by disasters or other challenging life circumstances who, without us, would struggle to find that hope. GOODS FOR THE GREATER GOOD.
