As Told to Good360 by Mercy Housing

Mercy Housing, located in Denver, Colorado, is one of the nation’s largest affordable housing organizations. We participate in the development, preservation, management and/or financing of affordable, program-enriched housing across the country. We acquire and renovate existing housing, as well as develop new affordable rental properties. We’re a national nonprofit organization that is working to build a more humane world where poverty is alleviated, communities are healthy, and all people can develop their full potential.

Thanks to this donation from United, most of the residents who were previously homeless or marginally housed were able to receive household goods which were valued by our residents who may have no or one change of bedlinens. The sheets and pillowcases donated by United allow the residents have appropriate bedding, but it also helps them maintain a healthy home through proper hygiene from extra sheets for their beds.

Two of our residents moved into our apartments with only a few items of clothing. Both gentlemen were homeless and were extremely happy to have extra beddingcombined with the air mattresses, mattress pads and towels helped to complete their homes. One of the men cried because he was so happy and surprised.  He thought he was going to have to sleep on the floor in his apartment without a blanket or anything. Thank you United and Good360 for providing these needed goods to our homeless community.
