As Told to Good360 by Green Light Aid
Green Light Aid and Development, located in Albuquerque, NM, is a nonprofit corporation that provides aid and advocacy for the prisons internationally. We provide direct aid, including hygiene and cleaning products, food and medicine, to inmates at our work sites. We support occupational therapy workshops, rehabilitation services, educational services and other opportunities for inmates. Our beneficiaries are often in transitional or shelter housing which include group kitchens in halfway houses and kitchens serving the homeless population.
Thank to this donation from a leading American retail company we were able to respond to emergency requests for food and beverages on a local level in Albuquerque. We provided coffee service for released detainees who later received City of Albuquerque support, which was an opportunity for emergency response for us. We were specifically looking for coffee makers, and we got several great items. We work with individuals in rehabilitation programs, including Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, as well as transitional living houses. Coffee is sometimes the heart of the group in meetings, and it is a great product to have available for our groups. Thank you Good360 for helping us give back to the members in our community looking to rebuild.
