Melissa Trumpower, Good360 Executive VP of Marketing, Communication and Strategic Partnerships, speaks at the NVOAD conference.

Good360 headed to Indianapolis last week to present its Disaster Recovery360 strategy to disaster specialists from across the country. Although we’ve been helping with disasters for more than 30 years, we spent the last two years planning how to scale and improve those efforts. The result is a technology platform we are now quickly developing with our IT team.

That platform—called Disaster Recovery360 — garnered one of Verizon Powerful Answers Awards earlier this year, to the tune of $850,000. Disaster Recovery360 will connect companies, nonprofits and individuals to help deliver the right donated products to the right place at the right time. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to present it to attendees at the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (National VOAD) conference last week.

DisasterRecovery360_LOGONational VOAD brings together nonprofit organizations helping with disaster to share knowledge and resources throughout the disaster cycle—preparation, response, recovery and mitigation—to help communities prepare for and recover from disasters. It’s a great community of incredible people who are dedicated to getting disaster survivors back on their feet and helping communities navigate the tricky and sometimes lengthy process of recovery.

We were welcomed with open arms and met many experts who offered to provide advice, guidance and feedback on the Disaster Recovery360 platform as we move to development this fall. There was a good deal of excitement about our plans moving forward, and several told us this new tool is desperately needed. If you’d like to get updates on the Disaster Recovery360 platform, you can sign up online.

Good360’s mission is to transform lives by providing hope, dignity, and a sense of renewed possibility to individuals, families, and communities impacted by disasters or other challenging life circumstances who, without us, would struggle to find that hope. GOODS FOR THE GREATER GOOD.
