Furniture Helps Make a House a Home for Deserving Families

Donation: MXD Group

Lives Impacted: 60

Runway for a Cause Foundation, in Laurel, MD, aims to support the well-being of indigent women and children in marginalized communities through self-empowerment and self-care. Our main initiative is through a fashion platform called Runway Moms for a Cause (RMFC), a fashion initiative with the mission to serve as a vehicle to raise funds to support our programs. Each year, RMFC profiles and celebrates accomplishments of mothers who impact change in their communities in a fashion runway show.

Through Good360, we received donated household furniture such as dressers, wardrobe armoires, TV stands and coffee tables from MXD Group. We gave them out to about 20 families. Four of these families were refugees. They received most of the donated furniture to setup their first apartments in the United States. Other families included low-income parents and single mothers.

We are providing an option for people that have nothing. There are many services that give away free food but it’s nice to be able to give out other needed items as well. The fact that the items are new and high-quality is very empowering to the recipients. It makes them feel worthy and loved. Thank you to MDX Group and Good360 for all that you do!
