As Told to Good360 by Sweetser

Sweetser, located in Saco, Maine, is a nonprofit community mental health provider with a statewide network of care offering services in mental and behavioral health, developmental, and educational services. Sweetser serves more than 20,000 children and adults each year. Our mission is to provide quality treatment, support and hope to children, families and adults. Through our multiple programs we can give back to those who may feel lost or out of place.

This donation will be utilized by our Developmental Services program so that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can live in a community setting that supports wonderfully rich and fulfilling lives. This is a community made for living an active life and strengthening independence, with guidance from direct support professionals. Community living forges friendships and lifelong support networks. The emphasis is on maximizing independence in a safe living environment. This donation helps the clients maintain living in a home and functioning as independently as possible. Thanks to this donation of homegoods, adults can feel more independent with beds and furniture of their own. They are responsible for their own items and cleaning and organizing their room the way they want it. Thank you Good360 for helping our residents feel more responsible and in charge of themselves.
