Tis The Season with A Special Kind of Reason, in Spring, TX, assists adults and children with recognizing and expressing ways that they are able to see the light in all situations. We received a large donation of clothing and accessories from Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic thanks to Good360. This clothing was great for those in our community who had been impacted by Hurricane Harvey. There were so many people who were grateful beyond words. During the clothing distribution, a little girl came up to me and asked if I would help her find a shirt. I walked her over to the area where the children’s shirts were. As we started looking, she told me, “This is my Wednesday shirt. I know it’s Monday but my Mom didn’t have enough money to do laundry this weekend.” As I struggled not to run to my purse and just hand her my wallet, I said, “Well, you must look beautiful every day of the week then.” She told me she simply wanted one more shirt so that if she got dirty during the day she would be able to put the other one on for the evening. Fighting back my tears was harder than I thought.
The girl’s family was disadvantaged before Harvey hit but, after the storm, they had been left devastated. God is truly good because had Good360 and these donors not provided the clothing, I would have never been able to fill this little girl’s needs as well as so many others! Thank you for helping us to bless others with things they need!
