Cora Donations Help Combat Period Poverty

Irie Kids, Inc.

Irie Kids, Inc. is a Good360 nonprofit member committed to helping children and their families in underserved communities. The charity coordinates several programs and raises funds to improve the lives of vulnerable families living on the island of St. Lucia.

Period poverty refers to the lack of access to menstrual products, education, hygiene facilities, waste management, or a combination of these. Around 500 million people globally are impacted by period poverty.

Recently, Irie Kids held a party for teenage girls as part of the organization’s period preparedness program. Students participated in a Q&A about menstruation while enjoying a tea party celebrating womanhood. Everyone who attended received a hygiene kit to take home.  Thanks to generous donations from Good360 corporate donor Cora, the students received high-quality organic tampons as part of the kits.

Many of the girls in the program come from rural villages that suffered severe financial difficulties throughout the pandemic, leaving little room in the budget for items like menstrual products. Now with the kits, they do not have to let menstruation get in the way of their education.

These donations, made possible by Good360 and Cora, empowered 1,000 girls on their journey to a brighter future.
