Clothing Donation Provides Families with The Confidence They Need

DONATION: DRESSES AND SNEAKERS

LIVES IMPACTED: 20 FAMILIES

Our mission at Power in Changing is to empower poverty-stricken families in Columbia, SC through assistance and education. We provide them with the skills and tools necessary to achieve success and higher levels of independence.

We received a donation of assorted dresses and women’s sneakers thanks to Good360. We distributed these donations to single mothers at our twice monthly Family Empowerment Classes. These mothers are often struggling financially so they may not have the resources to get new shoes or a dress for a job interview. Providing these items to families in crisis helps decrease stress levels and gives them the confidence in building a stronger foundation for their family.

Material hardships affect low-income families the most. When a caregiver does not have the adequate resources to provide for his/her family, it increases stress levels. Donations like these help families refocus on other issues that may impact their future. Our purpose is to ensure that every family that is in need has the resources available to build that foundation for higher levels of independence.

Thank you very much for this donation! The ladies were so happy to receive their new clothing and shoes. You have truly made a difference in their lives!
