As Told to Good360 by One Small Step, Inc

One Small Step, Inc, located in Chandler, AZ, provides clothing and household linens to people in need, and builds lasting relationships with our clients. Our vision is that no person or family within our service area should lack the clothing they need to secure employment, maintain a healthy and hygienic life, and be socially accepted. To that end, One Small Step strives to give people love, trust, and respect to help them gain all the tools they need to succeed. We are so grateful for organizations like GoldieBlox that make donations so that children can achieve a higher quality of life. Children are given school clothes, which alleviates the shame, and embarrassment, and sometimes bullying they feel at school. With proper attire, students are more likely to attend school and feel more confident in their classes. While clothing is occasionally available during a yearly back-to-school event, One Small Step is the only organization that provides clothing year-round to cover all seasonal needs as the children grow.

One  little girl from our organization was born with bilateral coloboma, a condition where some of the tissue in both eyes is missing. She is three years old and started attending a special preschool this year. She is growing stronger every day, and is on track to transition into a mainstream elementary school by the time she reaches kindergarten. She says her GoldieBlox shirt makes her look strong. Her mom appreciates new, contemporary clothing that helps her daughter fit in with other kids, and was grateful to receive this donation just in time for the school year. Thank you to GoldieBlox and Good360 for giving our children the strength they need to succeed.
