Carquest Brings Hope to Youngsville Community

DONATION: CARQUEST CAR PARTS

LIVES IMPACTED: 311

Roman’s Wings of Hope is an organization in Youngsville, Louisiana that assists families during and after the loss of a child, specifically stillbirth and infant loss cases. We provide hospitals with hats, blankets, burial gowns, memory boxes, HOPE bears and ER miscarriage pins. We also provide an online closed support group for these grieving parents. Above all, we fund Cuddle Cots. A Cuddle Cot is a medical cooling unit disguised within a Moses bassinet that preserves a stillborn child for up to 72 hours, allowing parents to have uninterrupted time to say hello and, unfortunately, goodbye. We received many items from Carquest that benefitted our community. We reached out to locals and allowed anyone who received SSI, disability or had no income to come and get any items they needed. We truly believe the parts helped those who needed to get vehicles running but did not have money to do so.

This donation provided a lot of exposure for us and allowed us to get our name out into the public so more people can support us in the future. We don’t have any current programs or nonprofits in the local community that assist with car parts in any manner for elderly, sick, disabled, or non-working individuals so this donation was truly unique and helpful for the people. We gave out the parts over a four-day span and we had a total of 311 needy individuals and families receive a car part. Pictured is our car part distribution event with members of the community taking home parts they need.
