As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause suffering across the nation, many summer recreational activities children look forward to all year were canceled, including camp.

North Shore Holiday House is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides free summer experiences to more than 200 children each summer. Due to COVID-19, sleepaway camps across the state closed for the summer.

The camp serves an economically disadvantaged population, many of whom were negatively impacted by the pandemic. North Shore Holiday House’s Board of Directors created Camp Cares to bring fun and activities to the campers who could not attend this year.

Thanks to a donation from Good360 and Toys for Tots, North Shore Holiday House assembled 100 Camp Cares packages, including grocery gift cards for the participants. “We are disappointed about our daughter not attending camp this year,” a mother of an 11-year-old child said. “Your gifts have kept her very busy this week and will for weeks to come. We can’t thank you enough.”
