Burt’s Bees Donations Perfect for Young Swimmers

Tankproof, in Prairieville, LA. aims to teach the gift of swimming to children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn. We started Tankproof after learning the startling fact that 70% of minority children do not know how to swim. This issue even extends beyond race, with the startling statistic that about ten people drown daily (with at least two of those victims being children). Upon becoming aware of these hard truths, we were left with two options: either do nothing or figure out a way to bring change in this area. We chose the latter and the rest, as they say, is history!

Many of the children we serve are low income and would not be able to afford these classes if taken somewhere else. We offer them free lessons to encourage freedom and safety in the water. We work with Good360 to provide these children with donations that will help them not only in the pool, but outside of the water as well. We gave each child a bag filled with Burt’s Bees lotions, lip balms, and face and body washes. They were thrilled to get items for their skin and lips. They had seen the products before and were interested to try them but had never been able to do so. They couldn’t wait to try them out. These products were great for our children because most have very sensitive lips and skin. Burt’s Bees has high quality products that worked wonderfully for them!

Our children come from low socio-economic backgrounds and would not otherwise be able to afford these products. This was a big plus for them and we loved to see them enjoying their new gifts. We thank Good360 and Burt’s Bees for allowing us to obtain the items for our children!
