Bed Bath & Beyond Blesses Hattiesburg Community

DONATION: BED BATH & BEYOND PRODUCTS

LIVES IMPACTED: 1,000+

Oseola McCarty Youth Development Center, in Hattiesburg, MA, places children and adolescents at the center of neighborhood and community life. Here, they can engage with caring adults, develop a sense of security and personal identity, and learn the rules of behavior, values, morals, and skills needed to move into a healthy and productive adulthood. Our target families are low-income, single parents, grandparents raising children, and incarcerated parents. We truly believe that “The Youth of Today Are Our Tomorrow’s Future.”

I have heard many heartbreaking stories of situations these families have had to deal with on a regular basis. Some families cannot make ends meet even if they are working full-time.

Many struggle with putting their children in daycare or affording basic necessities. These are the reasons we intervene to assist these families so they can be productive members of our society. The donation of goods from Bed Bath & Beyond has been a true blessing to our community. We assisted 187 families during the Christmas holiday alone with household donations as well as gifts for the youth. This partnership has assisted more than 1,000 individuals overall.

At our giveaway event, the families were given the opportunity to take home whatever they needed for their homes and all were very appreciative. We received so many comments from thankful individuals whose lives have been made a little easier thanks to these products! Thank you from all of us!
