Metis Child and Family Services is an agency in Edmonton, Alberta that strives to improve the quality and effectiveness of social services to aboriginal children and families in need. We develop and provide programs which will preserve and strengthen families living in these locations. Our programs focus entirely on developing community awareness and implementing the importance of responsibility for the well-being of children and families. MCFS donations supply clothing to clients in need that are within the area, since many of our clients struggle financially to make ends meet. Having access to new clothing takes some financial pressure from their other expenses so they can focus on other priorities.

Thank you for this clothing donation because it gave our clients more self-confidence knowing they are wearing new clothing. Poverty, bullying, mental illness, self-esteem and trauma can be affected with something as simple as new clothing. This donation provides children a break from potential bullying and helps them feel empowered in different areas of their lives. One of the youths in our program, mentioned that her family suffers from poverty due to her father’s alcoholism and abuse. Unfortunately, her whole family suffers from the outcomes of his financial and physical abuse which cause her to feel down on herself because she can’t afford nice things or clothing for her family. Through this donation we were able to give her a nice outfit including boots, shirts and a pair of leggings. This woman was so grateful to have new clothes as she stared in the mirror with pride. Thank you Good360 for everything that you do for our clients!
