High-quality Brands Add Sparkle to Noble Angels’ Homeless Shelter Parties

She’s a single mom in a family shelter with a six-year-old. She’s saving money at her new job to qualify for a permanent apartment. Most of all, she wants what other moms want—a loving and normal life for her son.

“He doesn’t know where he is,” she said. “He keeps asking me to throw him a birthday party.”

At most homeless shelters, that would be a tall order. Budgets cover the basics, and programming suffers when times are tight. But this mom was in luck. Birthday parties in homes like hers — and the smiles that go with them — are Noble Angels Inc.’s specialty.

Based in Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania, we come to shelters in neighboring communities every two or three months with a list of all the kids who’ve had birthdays. For each one, there is an individual cake with candles and a special gift. For the other children, there are activities such as crafts, games, and reading, plus a goodie bag. Sometimes even parents get gift baskets. Noble Angels couldn’t provide that sparkle without Good360 and its generous corporate partners. Moms are amazed when their girls get brand new Disney princess shirts. Burt’s Bees tinted lip products gave women at a shelter and rehab center a rare bonus—the luxury to choose the right color. It was a bit of pride they could slip right in their pockets.

Even the Dell laptop we received through Good360 from JP Morgan Chase travels to our parties. We prop it on a chair and children gather on the floor to watch their favorite movies.

High-quality gifts mean the most to adolescents, where shelter life magnifies normal teen feelings of not fitting in. When they open gift bags with luxurious Andalou Naturals Lavender and Biotin Shampoo, Conditioner and Style Spray, they often look at us hesitantly and say, “Are you sure?”

Yes, we’re sure.
