Good360 One of Ten Finalists in Verizon Powerful Answers Award

Good360 is proud to announce that it is one of ten finalists for the Verizon Powerful Answers Award in the category of sustainability.
Verizon is offering $10 million in prizes for innovators and companies who propose the most innovative solutions utilizing Verizon’s unique combination of network, device and platform technologies to help reinvent and empower the three core areas of healthcare, education and sustainability. First place in each category will be awarded $1 million, second place $850,000, third place $700,000, fourth place $500,000 and fifth place $285,000.
Good360 is a finalist for its Disaster Recovery Portal, an online tool that takes a holistic view of a community’s recovery from disaster by recognizing that it is a long-term process rather than a problem that can be solved in a matter of days, weeks or months. The ultimate goal is to ensure communities and people are not forgotten in the latter stages of recovery.
Through this cutting-edge portal, nonprofits working in disaster areas can request the right goods during different stages of a disaster, and enable donors – corporations and micro-philanthropists – to fulfill these critical needs at the appropriate time. The mobile application will run on Verizon smartphones and use its reliable LTE network to connect to the portal, hosted on Verizon’s cloud hosting solution. Good360 will use its existing logistical capabilities to deliver goods to designated nonprofits working to get affected communities back up and running.
Good360 President and CEO Cindy Hallberlin will be pitching the Disaster Recovery Portal to a group of executives and business professionals during the Round 3 competition in Palo Alto, California, on October 30, along with the nine other finalists in sustainability.

Winners will be announced in early 2014 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
