Pick 42 Foundation, Inc., located in Marion County, SC, participated in a drive last month to support survivors of Hurricane Florence. Our primary mission is to help children in our communities overcome adversity. We believe that by impacting the lives of children, it will ultimately aid the entire family, community and nation overall. We strive to give back to the community all year round, specifically during the Christmas season. During our latest donation drive, we were able to help over 18 families with donations of personal care items, bedding and blankets.
During the drive we met so many amazing people who were currently living in the shelter with nothing to their name. When we have these donation drive events, we always ask the guests to register, with their name and address so that we can send them updates on our next meetups. It broke my heart when we would ask people to give us their address, and they wouldn’t have an address to give since their house was destroyed in the storm. One lady was 9 months pregnant with twins, and initially just picked up a few personal items. Once we talked to her and found out that she lost her baby items in the storm, we offered her diapers and wipes to get her prepared for the babies. Thank you so much to Wrangler, Good360 and Penny Arcade for giving back to those in our community.
