Haiti Earthquake - Good360

About the Earthquake

On the morning of August 14th, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit 4 miles from L’Asile, Haiti – a city with a population of roughly 40,000. The damage was catastrophic destroying multiple buildings including churches, hotels, and apartment buildings leaving thousands homeless. The event left an estimated 650,000 people in need of assistance on the Tiburon Peninsula. More than 2,200 people have died and some 12,200 people were injured in the hardest-hit areas of Grand’Anse, Nippes and Sud.

Through partners including Global Empowerment Mission, HavServe and Global Citizen USA, Good360 has provided products and transportation for over 10 shipping containers of donated goods. These have included tents, tarps, PPE, beverages, non-perishable foods, hygiene products and other basic goods.  Shipping is costly and final mile distribution is fraught with dangerous and challenging obstacles, but Good360 and our partners are in for the long haul.

How Good360 Helps

We ensure that the right goods are delivered to the right people at the right time – throughout all stages of disaster recovery. We were there in the early days with personal care items, supplies for shelters, and cleaning/mucking out products and we’ll be there long after the media spotlight has dimmed months and years later with furniture, mattresses, home goods and other necessities to help impacted communities through the recovery journey.

Current Needs: clothing, shoes, personal hygiene, tarps, sleeping bags and non-perishable foods and beverages.
