HAITI EARTHQUAKE

Support is underway

On the morning of August 14th, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit 4 miles from L’Asile, Haiti – a city with a population of roughly 40,000. The damage was catastrophic destroying multiple buildings including churches, hotels, and apartment buildings leaving thousands homeless. Over 1400 people have lost their life due to the disaster.

As the rescue efforts are ongoing, Tropical Storm Grace is expected to dump up to 10 inches of rain on the island, which could trigger catastrophic mudslides.

Due to these converging disasters, the Prime Minister has declared a month-long state of emergency for the entire country.
