In April 2014, it was decided to temporarily switch Flint’s water source from the Detroit water system to the Flint River. Because the river water was not properly treated, lead from the city’s water pipes and lines leached into the drinking water. Flint has since returned to the Detroit system, but the water is not yet safe to drink and concerns remain regarding the risk of lead exposure to the city’s children.
To support the ongoing response efforts to supply the people of Flint with clean drinking water, donate to the Product Donation Registry to help cover the delivery cost of donated goods to Good360’s nonprofit partners on the ground. Corporate donors can also view the Unmet Needs List to donate products that are needed now as the recovery continues.
