VIDEO: Tempur-Pedic Mattresses Help Cancer Survivors in Maryland

Last month, The United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) partnered with Good360 to provide Tempur-Pedic® mattresses at no cost to breast cancer patients and survivors in the Baltimore, MD area.

A number of years ago Tempur Sealy International joined forces with Good360 to help maximize the company’s social impact potential through a mattress donation program. Working with Good360, The Tempur Sealy donation team provides thousands of high-quality mattresses to charitable organizations from coast to coast. This mattress donation program is far-reaching in terms of the organizations it supports, and delivers significant value to those organizations as well as to those they serve.

UBCF, one of our newest Community Redistribution Partners (CRPs), does things a little differently than our standard CRPs. While most CRPs operate a warehouse in one location where product donations from our corporate partners are redistributed to other qualified nonprofits, UBCF distributes donations through giveaways all across the country so they can connect with different communities affected by breast cancer. In line with its mission, UBCF has a specific use for these donated items – to support breast cancer patients, survivors, and their families at special giving events aimed to help alleviate the financial burden on these individuals while providing them with highly needed goods. Working in partnership with Good360 and Tempur Sealy International, this UBCF event was a perfect union of getting the right goods to the right people, and creating important social impact.

At this particular event, UBCF give away 280 mattresses to male and female breast cancer patients, survivors and their families. Cancer care is expensive. Very often large purchases, such as mattresses, and other daily necessities are delayed or abandoned due to mounting medical bills. UBCF and its partners are there to help. This is the organization’s fourth large mattress event in the past 12 months.
